My first and only facebook note
Felt like I need to speak on two things. Idk God has been tugging on my heart all week to write this, actually I think He may have wanted me to say it but…I’ll do it eventually (I know that sounds bad but…babysteps)
I’m going to start with this verse because this is what convicted me initially.
Matt 6:33: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Well the first thing I want to cover is putting on a show. I’ve noticed that Christians these days seem to be putting on a show that benefits no one. We don’t want to give people a reason to doubt us or God so let’s just be sure to stay genuine. Don’t go beyond what God has placed before you. Stay at the pace He has set for you. Don’t try to go ahead of Him because you WILL stumble and people will watch you fall, point and probable laugh before asking if you need help. There are things God wants us to do and we can’t blame Him when we feel our load gets to large because sometimes we pick up some of those thing ourselves without His approval. (Eph 2:10: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”) I don’t want to discourage anyone but I do want to advise each and every one of us (including myself) to stay focused on God and not on what people see. PLEASE DON’T PUT ON A SHOW!!!
The second thing I want to touch on is “spoken faith”. There is no way you can say you’re a Christian and not do anything that is of Christ, plain and simple. I have no right to judge anyone because I’m not perfect, I’m not God. The thing is Christians are looking too much at the world for guidance and acceptance, and most of the time they cannot justify the things they do. People will be quick to say “God and I have and understanding” or “that’s just the relationship God and I have” but that won’t get you anywhere except maybe hell, realtalk. One thing that really bothers me is when “Christians” don’t go to church. Again, there is no way you can say you’re a Christian without having that fellowship with other Christians. You cannot grow in Christ without the help of others. (Hebrews 10:24-25: “24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching”) You can have all the personal bible and prayer time you want but I doubt you’re really getting anything out of it. If you can’t fellowship with other Christians you won’t be able to bring anyone else to Christ, which is our goal in the end. Like I said in the beginning don’t put on a show for anyone do everything like God is staring at you at all times (cause He is O_o lol).
Anyways stay focused, stay on track and don’t try and make this journey on your own, not gonna work out. God Bless and Be encouraged.
